It is often said you meet the person of your dreams when you least expect it, and Court and Hallie can certainly attest to this statement. The short story is that they met at a five year old’s birthday party. Since that may seem a little strange, here is how it played out. Hallie went to a wedding in Atlanta in December of 2007. She was randomly seated at a table with Michelle Sipos. Michelle worked at Georgia Tech before she had her first child, so Hallie and Michelle had an instant connection. They chatted throughout the wedding reception and then went their separate ways. Six months later, Hallie received an email from Michelle asking if she was interested in moving in with her family while her husband, who is in the Navy Reserves, was on active duty. They had two kids at the time, Ava (then 3) and Andrew (then 6 months), and she was looking for a live in babysitter who could help with the children. After meeting the kids, Hallie broke her lease and moved in with the Sipos family for six months. Hallie became very close to the family and kept in touch with them after moving out. Two years later on the 4th of July, Ava celebrated her 5th birthday, and Michelle was pregnant with their third child, Evan. Hallie attended the birthday party expecting to be the only single person there. While Hallie was playing with the children, she noticed that a cute guy had arrived (Court edit: shortly thereafter I arrived). Later that evening everyone was in the swimming pool, and the cute guy that she had seen earlier was playing with the children like he was one of them. Curiosity got the best of her, and Hallie snuck over and asked Michelle who he was. Hallie and Court had their first conversation over dinner that night. Two weeks later, they went on their first date and have been inseparable ever since.
