Rachel was in Atlanta with her mom and sister this past weekend. They had a busy schedule, but she found some time to grab breakfast with me Sunday morning before they headed back home to Mississippi. It’s always so good to catch up with her because we only see each other a few times every year. When I think about Rachel, one of the first things that always comes to mind is her great sense of style. As I mentioned in the “Meet the bridesmaids” post, Rachel and I met when we lived together our freshman year at Georgia Tech. I was determined to have a zebra patterned comforter with hot pink sheets. Since there were four girls living in my dorm room, Jenn bit the bullet and got a comforter and sheets that matched mine. Rachel picked out classy, neutral comforters and sheets for Elicia and her, and she had a great window valence made to match. I know she cringed every day when she saw my zebra comforter, but she never said a word. Rachel, I’ll always love you for teaching me to have decorating style!
Here’s what Rachel had to say about her favorite things:
Favorite thing to do for fun: look for wedding ideas on Pinterest
Dream place to visit: Machu Picchu
Favorite hang out in Atlanta (or wherever you live): Dave’s Dark Horse Tavern in Starkville, MS. It’s inside an old, nasty motel but they have cold beer, great pizza, usually good live music, and trivia on Wednesday nights.
Song that will get you on the dance floor every time: “Brown Eyed Girl” and “Mustang Sally” are the typical wedding band songs that get me up and dancing. I’ll dance to anything after that except for line dances.
Favorite sports team (either college or professional): Mississippi State Bulldogs!!
Favorite TV show: The Real Housewives (every city), Say Yes to the Dress (not the Atlanta version)
Fun fact about you: The master of my home is my great dane Marley. It’s his world, I’m just living in it.
